Facilities: The purpose-built Junior campus in Annandale caters for students from Pre-Preparatory to Year 6 and is fully air-conditioned and computer networked to the senior campus and the internet. Townsville Grammar Junior offers specialist teaching in sport, performing arts, music and LOTE. The North Ward campus, hosting the Middle and Senior Schools, also has an Olympic-length swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium, a weights training area, three ovals, basketball and netball courts, and an adjacent synthetic running track.

Welfare and personal development: The school offers pastoral care and a peer support system. It has a full-time student counsellor available for both personal and career counselling. Students identified as gifted and talented are given extension work within existing subject areas. Three resource teachers assist students designated as having special needs. Individual and small-group tutoring is provided for overseas students. Each Key Learning Area provides open tutoring one afternoon per week.
Special features: Townsville Grammar is the most northern member of the Grammar School system in Queensland. It is the oldest co-educational school on the Australian mainland and has provided an all-round, balanced and disciplined education to the youth of North Queensland since 1888.
