The Athena School is a non-denominational, independent school, inclusive of all faiths and cultures, offering education from Pre-Kindy through Junior High School, registered by the NSW Board of Studies to Year 10.
The school’s mission statement is: “To encourage students to value themselves, knowledge and learning, while assisting them to achieve their goals through persistence, integrity and understanding of self and others.” Specific features of The Athena School are small classes, individual attention and friendly, approachable teachers, who are trained in the school’s unique teaching methods. The school covers the NSW curriculum and achieves above average academic results and competency in literacy and numeracy.
The Athena School’s focus is in helping to improve conditions in the local and broader Australian communities. Students participate in such activities as Clean Up Australia Day, Tree Planting Day, Harmony Day, Youth for Human Rights forums and the Say No to Drugs Campaign.
