Mount Gravatt High School has a very well-established sense of community, both in its broadly based management structure and in its attention to individual diversity.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography based on the National Curriculum. All other subjects will follow the Queensland curriculum syllabus as set by the Queensland Studies authority. Subjects include Health and Physical Education, Performing Arts (Visual Art, Music and Drama), Technology (Manual Arts, Home Economics) and LOTE (Japanese).
Subjects/Electives Years 11 and 12: Year 11 & 12 students must study six subjects in each semester, one of which must be English Communication or English and another must be Pre-vocational Mathematics, Mathematics A or Mathematics B. The subjects available to students include those that are designed to cater for the full range of students’ interests and abilities. These subjects cater for entry to University, TAFE and employment.
Sport: Australian Rules, Netball, Touch Football, Basketball, Rugby League, Ultimate Disc Cricket, Softball, Volleyball, Football (Soccer), Squash, Futsal, Tennis. Electives – Gym (weights), Ten pin bowling, Golf, Digi Skating, Ice skating, Zumba, Karate, Boxing, Swimming or a school-based sport (e.g. basketball, netball, volleyball, bocce etc).
Extracurricular activities: Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics.
