KAPUNDA HIGH SCHOOL

Kapunda High School is a relatively small country high school with a current enrolment of around 480. The school is geographically located 80 kilometres north east of the Adelaide GPO between the Barossa and Clare Valleys in the town of Kapunda, Australia’s oldest mining town. The school draws students from a wide socio-economic cross-section, with a wide range of values and abilities. The students come from the Kapunda Township and district as well as the communities of Freeling, Roseworthy, Wasleys, Greenock and Gawler. They pride themselves on our ability to offer a wide range of curriculum and extra curricula activities to the students delivered by a conscientious and dedicated staff who work closely with the parents and wider community.

Facilities: Main building, Eringa, which houses administration, is the former home of Sir Sidney Kidman, the “Cattle King”. Extensive lawns and gardens, large trees, community/school Gymnasium, air-conditioned , Canteen, a Technology Centre, two Art rooms, Music room, Drama room with stage and a two teacher Demac Home Economics Centre, Science teaching area and  Resource Centre.

Sport: Swimming carnival, Athletics day, SASSSA competitions.

Extracurricular activities: School Prefects/Student Representative Council, School Musical, ‘Pedal Prix’ concert band, Australian Business Week, Sporting Carnivals, camps and enrichment programs.
