FINDON HIGH SCHOOL

Findon High School is a small multicultural school located in the western suburbs about 8 kms from the GPO. It is accessible by public transport. The size of the school enables the staff to give more individual attention to students and to develop very positive staff-student relationships.

Students are provided with a range of pathways, both academic and vocational, supported by a broad curriculum. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including camps for Years 8, 9 and 11 as well as bi-annual ski and surf camps for the whole school.

In addition the school offers learn-to-surf programs, a wide variety of sport and other activities such as debating. Findon High School has a focus on using Information and Communication Technology and is an INTEL accredited school.

The school also has a focus on mapping student learning styles and using this information when planning and delivering units or topics of work. The school is committed to a whole school literacy program to ensure that students have the necessary literacy skills to be successful in the wider community.

The school has a strong emphasis on community projects and using these to strengthen the development of citizenship skills within our school environment. It also links its lifelong learning programs to further facilitate the development of these skills.
