Coolum State High School is a co-educational school which was established in 1985 and has grown steadily to the current enrolment of approximately 700 students.
Coolum State High School is a small, friendly community school which embraces the underlying culture of care, respect and excellence offering a comprehensive curriculum and co and extra curricula activities from Years 7 to 12.
The school is located in the Sunshine Coast Region, midway between the Maroochy and Noosa Rivers. It is situated 3 kilometres north of the Coolum Beach township, bordered on three sides by national park. The school enrolment catchment includes not only the Coolum Beach community but south to Marcoola, north to Marcus Beach and the communities west to Yandina Creek and Verrierdale.
The school is in an idyllic setting surrounded by natural bushland and is in close proximity to the beach.
Facilities: The school buildings are low set. In addition to general classrooms, there is provision for specialist technical areas in industrial technology design, home economics, art/performing arts, business education centre, science, computer laboratories, data projectors in general teaching classrooms. There is a multi-purpose hall. The school has an extensive computer network. In addition to internet access for research, a wide range of software is available for use by both staff and students.

Sport: Surfing Excellence Program – surfing is now very much a part of mainstream Australian sporting culture. Supporting this circuit is a large, diverse and financially viable range of ancillary industries which provide many vocational opportunities.
