Founded in 1920, Taylors College is proud of its academic record and its high ranking in the Tertiary Preparation Indices. Curriculum: Year 10 compulsory subjects are English, Mathematics, Business Studies and Science subjects. Electives include Social Studies, Art, Music and Health and Human Relations. Years 11 and 12 choose from a wide range of Humanities and Science subjects. Additional help through study guides and individual tutorials is available as part of the normal academic program. Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) is a high-quality university entrance program for international students who have completed Form 5, Year 11 or higher studies. MUFY students who achieve specified requirements are guaranteed entrance to Monash University.
Extra-curricular activities: Social and cultural activities including leadership conferences and camps; competitive sporting leagues including soccer, basketball, table tennis and badminton; recreational clubs including chess, bridge and cooking; niche sporting activities including yoga, dance and aerobics. Venues include on-campus, inner-city locales and Monash University recreational facilities. Taylors College offers a unique tutorial system where students have the opportunity to take advantage of free, time-tabled tutorials. These are individual or small-group tutorials in addition to class time, conducted during the school day.
Student welfare programs: Taylors College provides a wide range of student support services including a qualified psychologist for personal counselling, a tertiary adviser and careers counsellor, academic counsellor and comprehensive pastoral care services. Each student is also assigned a mentor who is one of their teachers and specially trained to monitor students’ wellbeing.
