Peter’s Catholic College aims to provide a comprehensive Catholic education for boys and girls in the Wyong Shire. The college challenges students — through a strong academic focus — to develop intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially.
Facilities: Chapel, multi-purpose hall, study block, open learning areas, healthy canteen, (GOLD accreditation), hospitality kitchen, sports oval, science laboratories, music room, computer laboratories, textiles and design room, art block, dark room, technology block, basketball and netball courts, cricket nets.
Electives Years 7 to 10: The electives chosen towards the end of Year 8 include Visual Arts, Commerce, Music, History, Geography, Wood and Metal Technology, Food Technology, Drama, Dance, Textiles and Design, Japanese, French, Electronics, Information Technology, Design and Technology, and Outdoor Education.
Electives Years 11 and 12: There are more than 40 NSW Board-developed subjects together with a small number of content-endorsed and school-based courses. A number of school-delivered and VET-delivered TAFE courses are also available. Sport: Competitive and representative sports for both girls and boys are available and include hockey, soccer, netball, basketball, rugby league and rugby union. The college also participates in interschool swimming, athletics and cross-country carnivals.
Extracurricular activities: Debating, public speaking, Rock Eisteddfod, outdoor education, school band, drama groups, Lions Youth of the Year, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, St Vincent de Paul, Red Cross Blood Bank. Various representative sports are also offered.
Welfare and personal development: A strong student leadership system, personal development programs involving pastoral care teachers, vocational education counselling and school counsellors are central to the College’s aim of developing the whole person.
