Built in 1975, the school has modern facilities and enjoys a pleasant bushland setting. The school is committed to the concept of the comprehensive high school and aims to develop in each student standards of individual excellence. Academic results are strong, particularly in mathematics, science, computing studies and English. The school has a proud sporting and performing arts tradition.

Electives Years 7 to 10: Industrial Technology (Wood and Metal), Commerce, Food Technology, Design and Technology, Dance, Drama, Music, French, Visual Arts, Physical Activity and Sports Science, Information and Software Technology. In Year 7, there is an extension class for gifted and talented students. For Years 7 and 8, there are remediation courses in English and Mathematics.

Sport: A wide variety of summer and winter sports is played by Moorebank students in inter-school competitions. There is plenty of leisure options as well, including indoor cricket, golf, squash, and weight training.
Extracurricular activities: Public speaking, debating, dancing group, Interact club, SRC, annual performance-based production, prefects, peer mediation, band, ensemble groups, choir.
Welfare and personal development: The school places a strong emphasis on welfare and has sound peer-tutor reading and peer mediation programs. There is an active prefect body and student council. Students are given extensive career guidance in Years 9, 10, 11 and 12. Year 10 students undertake work experience, which is also available to Year 9 to12 students if required.
