Mosman Preparatory School

Welcome to Mosman Preparatory School

Mosman Preparatory School specialises in boys’ only education. We are dedicated to providing exceptional boys’ education during the critical foundational years.

At Mosman Prep we support young men to be and to achieve their best, through individual attention, abundant opportunity and a deep community spirit inspired by our motto, Non Nobis Solum – Not for Ourselves Alone.

With Christian faith as our foundation, we focus on developing and strengthening relationships, solid foundations of character, the pursuit of excellence and the determination to contribute to the lives of others.

We offer a wide range of rich learning experiences, an outstanding teacher to student ratio, including specialist teachers and extra support staff, and a strong partnership between the School and parents.

And the School’s Outdoor Learning Centre in Terrey Hills is a wonderful space for the boys to connect with nature. There they learn and play through a rich integrated program within a unique and stimulating environment.

Learning Excellence & Specialist Staff

The early years spent at school are arguably the most important school years for the development of personality, intellect and character.

We consider every aspect of a boy’s development in an atmosphere of personal support, structure and clear boundaries.

Academic excellence is sought, but so too are creative, artistic, musical and sporting achievements.

And we see the spiritual development of each boy as essential to a comprehensive and purposeful education.

Boys from Pre-Kindergarten (Early Entry) to Year 6 enjoy the benefits of additional staff with teaching assistants in each class from Early Entry to Year 4 supporting the academic program. Specialist Teachers take Art, Music, PE and Sports, ICT, Library, Christian Studies and Mandarin.

For boys experiencing difficulty with their academic work, our Learning Support Program is a comprehensive one based on individual assessment and early intervention. And for boys requiring extension several staff take specialist lessons for these boys. Specialist staff in Learning Support or in the Gifted and Talented Programs each have additional specialist qualifications.

Technology

Technology is integrated across all key learning areas from Kindergarten to Year 6. Boys have access to Apple laptops and iPads on a daily basis, and they are taught how to use a variety of applications for word processing, presentations, movie making, animation, coding, robotics, blogging and how to research effectively using technology. Additionally, the School offers a variety of applications to complement the literacy and numeracy topics the students are taught in class.

Sport

The Physical Education Programme includes skill development in general games and sport, dance, gymnastics and aquatics. The boys are provided with a balanced physical education programme, with an emphasis on Motor skills, individual fitness, self-esteem, well-being and social responsibility.

Specific sports include: softball, badminton, tennis, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, sailing, BMX bike riding, golf and croquet.

Scholarships

Mosman Preparatory School offers a range of scholarships to encourage outstanding students from all backgrounds, and provide them with the essential gifts of individual attention, thoughtful education, and meaningful experiences that empower them to thrive during their critical early years. Our scholarship program is focused on academic excellence, aptitude in creative arts and all-round abilities.

Secondary School Connections

We are blessed to be closely connected with a number of outstanding Secondary Schools. These schools have historically provided placements for the transition of Mosman Prep boys to Year 7. In some cases, a preferred entry placement and additional consideration for scholarships are possible.

Mosman Prep currently has a special connection with the following Secondary schools: The Scots College (Bellevue Hill); The King’s School (Parramatta); Cranbrook School (Bellevue Hill); Newington College (Stanmore); Shore School (North Sydney), St. Joseph’s College (Hunters Hill) and St Andrew’s Cathedral School (Sydney CBD).
