St Leo Hero

On Monday 29 August 2022, Mr Peter Clague commenced as the new Principal of St Leonard’s College. Peter joins the College from Worcestershire in the UK, where he has been the Headmaster of Bromsgrove School for the past eight years. Prior to Bromsgrove, Peter was the Executive Principal of Auckland’s Kristin School.

Like St Leonard’s College, Bromsgrove and Kristin are progressive schools that span early learning through to secondary education. Both schools offer dual tertiary pathways of the IB Diploma Programme and the local qualification in a co-educational setting and share a similar ethos to St Leonard’s.

Jen Neate, Chair of St Leonard’s College Council shares, “Peter is an inspiring and whole-hearted educational leader excited by the opportunity to lead St Leonard’s College. The College Council is excited to support Peter as he embarks on his role as the tenth Principal of our great school. Peter’s values and experience complement St Leonard’s educational innovation and excellence, and he strongly believes in the benefits of co-education. He is a passionate advocate for a progressive and holistic education that enables young people to thrive and excel academically and personally. Peter’s emphasis on the importance of community aligns with ours, and I know he is very much looking forward to forging new relationships across our community.”
