Narangba Valley State High School opened its doors in 2000. Nestled in the Forest Ridge Estate at Narangba, the growing community embraced the school’s early years with enormous support as buildings were finalised and many more students entered through the gates.
The school’s logo is an endless equilateral triangle superimposed onto a globe. The endless triangle represents life-long learning and the need for each person to be a life-long learner. This type of person is one who has the skills to be a complex thinker, with deep understanding, a creative person, an active investigator, a participant in an interdependent world and an effective communicator. The globe represents planet earth and reminds us that we live in a global community where there are no barriers between nations in knowledge and communication.
The school’s motto, ‘Challenging the Future’ can have various interpretations and students are challenged to think about all the possibilities the term can hold. One interpretation is that Narangba Valley High School is preparing students for their futures in the twenty-first century. Another possible meaning is that students will challenge the future by becoming the designers and leaders of the new millennium.
