Bray Park State High School is located approximately 25 minutes north of the Brisbane Central business district. There are school buses which service the school and also connect to Bray Park train station
In 2013 the school was very proud to be one of only 20 state high schools in Queensland to offer enrolments to Year 7 students as part of the Flying Start Pilot Program. This program continues to go from strength to strength with a dedicated Junior Secondary Precinct and specialist staff who continue to support students in the transition between primary and secondary school.

Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: All students study the core subjects of English, Health and Physical Education, History, Geography, Mathematics and Science. Students are introduced to the following electives on a rotational basis throughout the year: Arts/Drama/Music, Business, Languages other than English – French, Technology – Home Economics and Manual Arts.
Subjects/Electives Years 11 and 12: Authority subjects include English, English Extension, Maths A, Maths B, Maths C, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics, Modern History, Ancient History, Legal Studies, BCT, ITS, Accounting, Physical Education, Home Economics, Drama, Art, Music, Music Extension. The school currently offers 24 school-based Traineeships/Apprenticeships.
Sport: Students participate in activities such as Netball, Volleyball, Soccer, Touch Football and Rugby League.
Extracurricular activities: Students can also participate in Instrumental Music, TECH crew, Sport Development programs, and ICAS competitions.
Welfare and personal development: Specialist support within the school exists in the form of a Guidance Officer, School Based Youth Heath Nurse, School Based Youth Support Officer, School Based Chaplain, School Based Police Officer, Indigenous Teacher Aide, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, Year Level Coordinators, Learning Support Coordinator.
