LONGREACH STATE HIGH SCHOOL

Longreach State High School provides educational programs and services for more than 200 students in Years 8 to 12 in a co-educational environment. Students come to Longreach State High from the two primary schools in Longreach, Longreach State School and Our Lady’s School. Other feeder schools are Ilfracombe, Muttaburra and Isisford State Schools.

Established in 1967, the school is located in Longreach, a community of approximately 3400 residents. Longreach is situated in central western Queensland, 1200 kilometres from Brisbane. Its main income is based on cattle and sheep production and tourism. The town is renowned for its tourist icons, The Stockman’s Hall of Fame and QANTAS Founders Museum.

Longreach State High School offers tertiary pathways and vocational qualifications for students in Years 11 and 12 preparing them for further education and training or the workplace. The school hosts the Outback College of Hospitality Trade Training Centre (OCOHTTC) which offers students access to state-of-the-art hospitality training opportunities.
