The Gap State High School is committed to “educating the whole person in a supportive local school community” and has developed its own award winning leadership and personal development program – GOALS (Gap Outdoor, Adventure and Leadership Studies), a holistic program aimed at preparing and developing strong, confident individuals.
The school is completely networked and Information Technology is a core part of the curriculum for all students, with a range of technology-based electives available. The school is constantly enhancing and developing strategies that will increase the integration of Information, Communication and Technology into learning. The Gap High has a history of strong academic performances, with students consistently achieving well above state and national benchmarks.

Facilities: The hall is one of the largest indoor school sporting facilities providing 2400 square metres of court playing area, modern facilities, storerooms, mezzanine level for weights, cardio rooms and large spectator area.
Subjects/Electives Years 7 to 10: Core subjects that – English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (History and Geography), Health and Physical Education, GOALS (Gap Outdoor Adventure Leadership Studies). Students then choose three electives subjects.
Subjects/Electives Years 11 and 12: An English subject (English or English Communication), a Mathematics subject (Pre-Vocation Mathematics, Mathematics A or Mathematics B) are both compulsory.
Sport: The students can participate in a variety of sports and school based activities. Extracurricular activities: At various times throughout the year students are given the opportunity to represent the school in competitions. The Gap State High School has a large and dynamic instrumental music program, camps and excursions.
Welfare and personal development: Guidance officers, chaplaincy, learning support.
Special features: The school has a history of consistently high Academic Achievement, Musical Composition, Performance, Visual Arts, Leadership and Personal Development, Mandarin Chinese, Physical Outdoor and Sporting Programs.
