Curriculum: Primary classes are organised according to age levels with specialist classes in Computers, Art, Music, Physical Education and Library. Secondary students are divided into two groups according to age and classes are organised according to the students’ language proficiency level. There are specialist classes but the basis of the curriculum is English language acquisition. Students are given a basic grounding in subject areas outlined in Victorian Essential Learning Standards. Specialist classes across the school emphasise the language and skills of Mathematics, Computers, Science, Drama and Physical Education. Excursions, careers education, expos, camps and concerts form a significant part of the curriculum in keeping with the Principles of Learning & Teaching (PoLT). At the completion of the course, students are assisted in their transition to mainstream schools. Careers counselling is also available to students. Student welfare programs: There is a significant, well-established welfare program for students and families linking them to support agencies in the community.
